Job Title: Nurse Manager – Mother Baby Unit
Southern, CA

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Manager for our Mother Baby Unit to provide leadership and oversight for our team of healthcare professionals. This role will ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care in a compassionate and collaborative environment while managing the daily operations of the unit. The Nurse Manager will work closely with physicians, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Mother Baby Unit, ensuring safe and effective patient care delivery.
  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of Registered Nurses, providing guidance and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and nursing standards.
  • Coordinate staffing levels to meet the needs of the unit, ensuring adequate coverage during all shifts.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians and ancillary staff, to develop and implement care plans for patients.
  • Foster a positive and supportive work environment, encouraging professional development, teamwork, and excellent patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate patient outcomes and safety metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance care delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, including but not limited to California state nursing regulations, hospital policies, and accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for nursing staff and provide regular feedback, guidance, and professional development opportunities.
  • Participate in budgeting, staffing, and resource allocation decisions to ensure efficient and effective unit operations.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the unit, providing hands-on leadership and supporting staff in the delivery of care.
  • Stay current on evidence-based practices and industry trends to ensure the highest level of care for patients in the Mother Baby Unit.

Requirements:

  • Current and valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • A minimum of 3+ years of RN experience in a dedicated Postpartum/Mother Baby and/or Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital.
  • At least 2+ years of RN leadership experience in a Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager position (Charge RN experience will not be considered).
  • Demonstrated experience in clinical leadership, including the ability to supervise, guide, and evaluate nursing staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals.
