The registered nurse provides care to patients in a busy post-partum care unit. Under the direction and leadership of the Nurse Manager, the RN is responsible for the delivery of patient care through knowledge of the nursing process and age specific requirements, and by following departmental and hospital policy and procedure. Qualified candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively document care, delegate assignments, relay information, make referrals, and act as liaison between patient, physicians, other hospital disciplines, and community agencies.
Responsibilities:

• Provide care to patients in a busy post-partum care unit under the direction of the Nurse Manager.
• Deliver patient care following the nursing process and age-specific requirements, adhering to departmental and hospital policies.
• Document care effectively, delegate assignments, relay information, make referrals, and act as a liaison between patients, physicians, other hospital disciplines, and community agencies.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Massachusetts RN licensure
• BLS Provider credential by American Heart Association by the first day of employment
• NRP certification required during orientation
• Prior maternity experience strongly preferred
• Minimum one year of direct patient care experience as an RN strongly preferred
