Clinical Director

Salary: $64,000 - $93,000

Position Summary:
The Clinical Director (Senior Clinician) is responsible for ensuring quality clinical services in alignment with state/federal regulations, payor specifications, and CHL standards, policies and procedures. The Clinical Director is responsible for clinical supervision of the program’s clinical staff and maintaining all required groups, individual sessions, and other therapeutics, along with concomitant documentation. The Clinical Director functions as part of the multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective communication with consumers, peers and other professionals that is sensitive to the racial/ethnic/cultural/class backgrounds.
  • Coordinates day to day counseling operation of the program; ensures compliance with all Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS) group and individual treatment and documentation requirements.   
  • Participate in hiring, continuous progress review and disciplinary procedures.
  • Provide supervision, training, evaluation, and leadership to program staff.
  • Provides clinical supervision to program staff.  
  • Completes all paperwork as assigned.
  • Keeps current with Massachusetts Behavioral Health Plan (MBHP) and other payor requirements to make certain that the program’s treatment offerings meet or exceed standards. 
  • Performs other related job duties. 

Qualifications:
  • LADC I (Preferred) or other independent license with at least a master's degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: psychology, clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, mental health, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work.
  • Two years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience.
  • Minimum of one year full time equivalent of clinical supervisory experience.
  • Prior to January 1, 2026, Senior Clinicians may include an individual who possesses at least a master's degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: clinical psychology, education-counseling, medicine, mental health, psychology, psychiatric nursing, rehabilitative counseling, social work; and two years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience; at least one year full time equivalent year of clinical supervisory experience; and has acted as Senior Clinician for more than two years.
  • This role may also be known as the Clinical Supervisor or Senior Clinician.
  • Current valid United States driver’s license and ability to provide registered and insured automobile for work related purposes including transporting clients. 
  • CPR, First Aid certifications must be completed within the first six months after hire date if needed for program licensure. 
  • Must be able to complete a CORI (Criminal Offender Background Check) and a DCF/CPS (Department of Families Adam Walsh/Child Protective Services background check) and meet Agency requirements.
  • Bilingual candidate a plus.
